Terms and conditions of membership:

Membership types and fees (KD per month)

Type	Membership fees (KD)	Privileges
Patron	Nil	Any Company, Institution, Government Department, Corporation or individual interested in supporting the cause of IBAK and Badminton in general will be eligible to be elected as Patron Members.
Premium	10	Member is allowed to participate in the practice sessions scheduled in a week (3 days per week). Free entry to all the socio-cultural events of the association. If the Premium member has one registered Associate member, he/she enjoys all the benefits as enjoyed by the premium member. The rest of the family members get free access to all events too.
Associate	5	Immediate family member of the Premium member like wife, husband, son or daughter under 18 yrs of age. No individual can be directly an Associate member.
Affiliate	5	Member is allowed to participate in the practice sessions ONLY once during the week and on tournament days (Fridays). Member has to communicate the choice of day in the week via email to Secretary – Courts & Coaching at the beginning of each month. The Affiliate member has to pay entry fee for self and any accompanying person to any Socio-cultural event being organised by IBAK.
Guest	2 (per signing)	Can belong to any nationality. Should be introduced by a Premium member. Has access to practice facilities. Is not allowed to attend any socio-cultural events of IBAK. Note: KWD 15 /month (only 3 days a week)

Governance: Executive working committee elected by the general body of members. Advisory board nominated by members. The positions are held for a term of 3 years beginning April each year and renewal for a further 3 years by a simple 2/3rd majority of the General Body.

Membership rules

Membership is open to all persons of Indian origin.
Children under 18 years of age must have a parent / guardian as the primary member of IBAK.
All members will be provided with I.D cards which have to be produced on demand.
Members who do not produce IDs may be denied entry by the management of the sports facilities.
Change in contact details to be communicated within 1 week to the executive committee.
Individuals of other nationality are allowed to be Guest members, provided they are attached to a Premium member of IBAK who will be responsible for collection of fees and conduct, of the Guest.
The fee payment will be on a QUARTERLY, HALF-YEARLY and ANNUAL basis only.

Members leaving Kuwait permanently will be refunded, fees, as applicable, on a pro-rata basis.
IBAK reserves the right to increase the fees for membership and tournaments at any time in order to serve the best interest of its members.
All members are required to abide by the court etiquette

IBAK Court Etiquette

IBAK has a set a rules and guidelines to help ensure all players have an enjoyable evening ofbadminton. As IBAK has grown in size in recent years, it is becoming increasingly difficult tocommunicate with everyone the fundamentals on which the association is built. This brief guide aimsto remind all players of IBAK’s core values and the spirit with which we play badminton.Most of the guidelines are common courtesy, whilst others are specific to the badminton court. Byadhering to IBAK’s guidelines on etiquette, you will be helping us provide a safe, warm, and friendlyenvironment for playing badminton.

All members must play within theIBAK rules and laws of badmintonand respect officials and theirdecisions. Respect between members is to bemaintained at all times Abusive, violent and harassingbehavior (physical, verbal, visual,etc.) will not be tolerated at any time.At the discretion of the committee,players who are found to be in breachof this rule will no longer be permittedto play Do not walk on courts that people are playing on – leave at least a foot of clear space beyond the court when walking past, and especially don’t take a short cut over the corners At times, you may be paired up with players less advanced than yourself. Look after them, offer help, and make them feel welcome on court. Remember, everyone has to start from somewhere and you were once a beginner too. If you have any queries, complaints and suggestions, you may kindly bring it to the attention of a committee member who should be able to assist.	IBAK runs on 15-minute slot system which allmembers can book the thru the Gymsupervisor or committee member (ExceptProfessional Level) for all the working days. All the members are allowed to play minimum4 slots of total 1 hour. Please wait for your turn of booking. Courts should be swept prior to play Wear Non-Marking shoes on court and Do not wear outdoor shoes on court. Wear tidy and clean sports clothes. Singles are to be avoided if all courts are full and there are people waiting to play. Pay your dues ON TIME! Help us keep the court clean and damaged SHUTTLES and other waste should be disposed in the waste baskets that are placed in the IBAK Gym premises.
	Equipment All Members and guest players are requested to take care of IBAK assets and equipment’s. If you arrive early, please assist with Gym supervisor to setting up the net and poles in position on court Similarly, if you are the last players at the club, please help us to collect any remaining shuttlecocks left on the floor and put it on waste basket. If you find any other members’ belongings, please hand over to Gym Supervisor or to any committee member.
Games Introduce yourself to your partner and introduceyourself to your opponent/s Toss the shuttlecock up to determine which side will serve. If you lose the point and the shuttlecock is on your side of the court, it is considered polite to fetch and return the shuttlecock to the opponent's court. Don’t go under the net when changing sides. Picking up the shuttlecock: If your serve fails or the shuttlecock lands in your side of the court you have to pick it up and hit it back to the opponent. This is basic etiquette. Don’t hit the shuttlecock under the net when returning it to the opponent, it must be hit over the net. Don’t make any sounds that will put your opponent off during a match and Avoid using foul language. Shake hands with your opponent/s yes with Umpires it is basic courtesy. For matches, both sides should first line up and shake hands before playing. When you or your partner lose a point when serving or smashing you should return the shuttlecock to your opponent not wait and let them retrieve it. When serving, pay attention to whether the opponent is ready. If a smash hit the opponent or a lucky point is won (when the shuttlecock hits the net but still goes over, for example) a gesture of apology should be made. BRING YOUR OWN SHUTTLES!!! If a shuttlecock flies onto another court first offer an apology and wait until the other players stop before retrieving it (don’t let a player tread on it and get injured.) Please help keep our floors clean at the entrance. Demonstrate good sportsmanship before, during and after games.	Line Calls Make fair line calls when the shuttlecock lands on your side of the court. The person nearest to the shuttlecock has the final decision and the call should not be disputed. If you are in doubt as to whether the shuttlecock is in or out, either call it in favor of your opponent or play a LET. Importantly, respect and accept your opponent's calls - no matter how wrong it may be.
	Enjoy Badminton To ensure that all players enjoy our IBAK facilities. To encourage friendly competition and rivalries, but we place greater emphasis on having fun. Don't take things too seriously. Be gracious in victory and defeat. Smile and laugh often. Be courteous and treat all players and members with respect and most importantly have fun!
