The wait is over, IBAK SLAM 2024 kick starts on 21st November

The temperature is going to rise again… Yes, this time, the IBAK gym is going to feel the heat from all sides. IBAK presents the prestigious tournament of the year, the IBAK SLAM. This is the first edition that IBAK is conducting this significant tournament. The prestigious tournament will bring together top senior players from across the globe, including past champions and rising stars in the senior category. This time around, the IBAK spectators will admire the clash of eight Titans. IBAK SLAM will witness the clash of eight teams namely Team Canada, Team India, Team Qatar, Team Malaysia, IBAK All Stars, IBAK Torpedoes, Smashing Stars and Black & One. Each team consists of top ranked players from around the world. Badminton lovers of Kuwait will surely enjoy the breath taking matches between the teams in a five match tie. Each tie will be fought over five categories like Men’s Singles, two Men’s Open doubles, Ladies doubles and Mixed doubles.

The tournament aims to celebrate the enduring spirit of badminton and incredible athleticism of senior players. Participants in various age groups (40+, 45+, 50+, 55+, 60+) will compete across singles, doubles and mixed doubles categories, showcasing their mastery of the sport.

Event will be hosted in 25 categories as follows. Men’s Singles +40 , Men’s Singles +45 , Men’s Singles +50 , Men’s Singles +55 , Men’s Singles +60 , Women’s Singles +40 , Women’s Singles +45 , Women’s Singles +50 , Women’s Singles +55 , Women’s Singles +60 , Men’s Singles +40 , Men’s Doubles +45 , Men’s Doubles +50 , Men’s Doubles +55 , Men’s Doubles +60 , Women’s Doubles +40 , Women’s Doubles +45 , Women’s Doubles +50 , Women’s Doubles +55 , Women’s Doubles +60 , Mix Doubles +40 , Mix Doubles +45 , Mix Doubles +50 , Mix Doubles +55 , Mix Doubles +60.

Speaking about the event, Dr. Manimara Chozhan, Chairman of IBAK, said, “This tournament is more than just a competition; it’s a celebration of dedication, perseverance, and love for the game. Senior players continue to inspire us all with their passion and determination, and we are thrilled to host such a significant event”.

IBAK cordially invites all the badminton lovers in Kuwait to witness this great badminton event of the year in the IBAK Salwa Gym on November 21, 22 and 23 . The inaugural ceremony will be held on Thursday 21st November at 7.00 PM. Matches will continue on Friday, 22nd November & Saturday, 23rd November from 9.30 AM onwards. Regular tournaments and competition can best achieve the results as outlined above. Tournaments also provide for a platform through which a player can advance from novice level to higher levels.
